About VAERS
What VAERS is, who runs it, and what it is for.
The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) is a national early warning system for possible safety problems in vaccines licensed in the United States. It is co-managed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). VAERS accepts and reviews reports of health problems that happen after vaccination, so that scientists can look for unusual or unexpected patterns that may need a closer look.
